What exactly is a backyard ultra?
A last one standing race: everyone sets off together to complete a 6.71 km loop within an hour and, at the top of the next hour, sets off again. The last one still standing wins and everyone else is listed as DNF, so there is no target time and no distance set in advance: 24 loops make 100 miles.
