Frequently asked questions
When is the next backyard ultra in Spain?
Races are listed by date, from the soonest to the furthest away, so the first one on the list is the next to be run. Each row shows the date, the town, the type of race and the registration status, and each race’s page has the rest: course, price, official website and its past editions.
How do I register for a backyard ultra?
There is no central registration: each organiser runs its own, on its official website or on whichever platform it uses. Each race’s page has the registration link, the closing date and any requirements. Races with a campsite tend to have limited places and to close earlier than you’d think.
What does it mean when registration is on a waiting list?
That the places have sold out but the organiser is still taking names: you can’t simply sign up, and at the same time a withdrawal could get you into the race. That’s why we keep it apart from ‘closed’, which is when nobody else is admitted. The status you see on each row is the latest we have checked with the organiser.
Is a race missing from the calendar?
It may be: the calendar is kept by hand and a new or local race can take a while to reach us. If you know one that isn’t listed, you can suggest it from the contribute page and we’ll add it once we have checked it with the organiser or the official timing. Nothing is published without being checked first.
